What happens if I have to cancel?
If it is more than 60 days before activity, you only pay the deposit of 1500 SEK. Read the booking conditions here här

I am allergic or have special food needs, can I join?
– Absolutely, write in the booking or in separate mail so we take your conditions into account.

I don’t have equipment, what should I do?
– I always recommend Outdoorbuddies to rent equipment, they have a good selection. I also live next door to them and can therefore help with logistics and other mediation if needed. If you want to buy equipment, I am available for consultation and advice!

I’m not sure if I’m properly prepared, or don’t know what trip would be best.
– Under each activity there is a short description for whom the activity is adapted for, where you get a rough understanding, but it is perfectly understandable if it feels messy. If you have specific questions, you are welcome to contact us by e-mail, or:
– Book an appointment for consultation and we will look at the appropriate activity for your needs, we try to be flexible and adaptable to our common goals, everyone should feel welcome!

What happens if the weather is bad in luck or ahead of a trip?
If the weather is so bad that it risks our security, we primarily change the route to better alternatives or adjust timeframes etc. However, weather is part of staying in the mountains so this is something you need to take into account. The last resort is cancellation of the trip but it would take a lot. In that case, it will be rescheduled to another date after dialogue with you.

Can I book a private tour? (1-2 guests)
– Absolutely! Write to info@fjallkloka.se for a quote.

What happens if I miss the start time of the tour?
– This depends entirely on what activity it is but it is the guest’s responsibility to arrive on time and we can not wait so no refund can be made. But let us know well in advance and we will try to solve it as best we can.

Before course

Digital meeting for the course, link & date will be sent a couple of weeks in advance. Here we have intro in avalanche knowledge in peace and quiet and you will already before the trip have got a foundation in risks, terrain and an understanding of what we do in the snow, and why we do it.

Day 1

Åre Fjällsätra is a perfect starting point for us, here we meet for introductions, planning and morning coffee before we go to the mountains! Depending on where the snow is, we have several options to choose from during these days, the goal is 3 different mountains and if we have the weather with us maybe we even reach all 3 summits! We will start with intro to the Avalanche equipment, how it works and how to use it. You will learn search techniques, excavation techniques and decision-making, all in group activity. Then it’s time for the tour, we aim for a mountain with good conditions for nice turns! Here is the focus on getting comfortable with your equipment, motion technology, you get to learn kickturns, and how to effectively get up the mountain. If we have the conditions, we can also enjoy more coffee at the top! Then you will learn how we most safely get down from the mountain when we slide down! Of course you also get nice pictures and feedback on your skiing!

Day 2

Today, it’s all about reading the terrain, understanding the snow and identifying avalanche terrain. We take a tour on another mountain and build on the skills from yesterday. Today we also practice companion rescue with a focus on group dynamics and roles in various case studies. The goal is greater presence and awareness of our own decisions, why we make those decisions, and insight into what turns a small snowball into a big snowball when making decisions. Of course we also have a lot of fun going down!

Day 3

We tie the sack together and take with us everything we learned before the day and take turns on a third mountain, we continue to practice but the day is more calmly emphasized in the reflection and enjoyment of the mountain and skiing. We have more time for discussion and questions about past experiences and personal feedback. Once down from the mountain, we gather for coffee and more tips on tools you can use to make your own skitouring as good as possible. When the day is over, you will have a good understanding of what skitouring means for planning, implementation and security!

Getting to Åre:
The easiest option is train or bus to Östersund, then train or bus to Åre.
