Vad händer om jag måste avboka?
– Är det mer än 60 dagar innan aktivitet så betalar du bara depositionen på 1500 kr. Läs bokningsvillkoren här

Jag är allergisk eller har speciella matbehov, kan jag vara med?
– Absolut, skriv i bokningen eller i separat mail så tar vi hänsyn till dina förutsättningar och gör en pangtur!

Jag saknar utrustning, vad ska jag göra?
– Jag rekommenderar alltid outdoorbuddies för att hyra utrustning, där finns det mesta. Jag bor dessutom granne med dem och kan därför hjälpa till med logistik och annan förmedling ifall det behövs. Vill du köpa utrustning finns jag tillgänglig för konsultation och råd!

Jag är osäker på om jag är rätt förberedd – hur vet jag?
– Boka en tid för konsultation så pratar vi om dina förutsättningar och målbilder, ibland är turen inte rätt, men oftast så övertänker man och det visar sig att det mest är nervositet inför något nytt.

Vad händer om vädret är dåligt på tur eller inför en tur?
– Är vädret så illa att det riskerar våran säkerhet så lägger vi i första hand om rutten till bättre alternativ eller justerar tidsramar etc. Dock är väder en del av att vistas i fjällen så en del får man vara förberedd på. Sista utvägen är inställning av resan men det ska mycket till. Då bokas det i så fall om till ett annat datum efter dialog med bokade gäster.

Kan jag boka en privat tur? (1-2 gäster)

Vad händer om jag missar turens starttid?
– Detta beror helt på vilken aktivitet det är men det är gästens ansvar att komma i tid och kan vi inte vänta så kan ingen återbetalning ske. Men meddela i god tid så försöker vi lösa det så gott det går.

Day 1

We meet outside Vålådalens mountain station at 10.00, here we have introductions, and go through equipment and peeking over the tour planning on the map. We set off south on the winter trail through Vålådalen’s forest landscape on our skitouring skis and with backpacks. The distance is about 10 km to STF Lunndörrstugan which we will be able to accomplish in a couple of hours, but before we arrive we find a cozy place for lunch! Once we arrive, we install ourselves to be here for a few days, and maybe we already want to light a hot fireplace!

The afternoon activity is the course and theory in avalanche safety. Here you get the basics of safety in the winter mountains and how to identify avalanche terrain, we will also start with search techniques with transceiver! After that we get to go in and warm up again, and enjoy a dinner to dream of, Suovas in bread with garlic sauce, raw lingonberries and vegetables!

Day 2

For breakfast, traditional Gahkku bread with butter and a homemade blueberry salsa with apples and onions, something we can definitely stand on for a while, because today we go up on the mountain for a great trip! We practice movement technique on the way up the mountain, kick-turns, pace and communication. At the appropriate location, we rehearse search technology in a little larger terrain and as we continue to walk, we get to apply yesterday’s theory in practice when we look for avalanche terrain! If we are lucky, we can enjoy lunch near the summit! After that we get to enjoy some lovely turns down!

Depending on the weather and what the group feels like, we adapt today’s activity level. Once down, a hot sauna for serious relaxation is waiting for the right way, a dinner you will never forget about with Arctic cod with herbs, butter fried cabbage and potatoes! After that, we have an evening of time for discussion, reflection and storytelling before bedtime.

Day 3

Today we start with a cold-smoked char, served on crispbread with a homemade scrambled egg.
Complement to it is a cloudberry yoghurt with oatmeal and honey! A proper breakfast later
We sit down for a theory session with a focus on the avalanche climate in Sweden, what it means for you and the tools you can use yourself when you are out in the terrain. Then it’s time for a tour but for that you will get to plan today’s tour in a whole group!

We go out and take turns strengthening yesterday’s knowledge for one or two rides on our nearby mountains, of course we make sure that you get really nice pictures of your skiing too! Once down it is time for the final test in avalanche search, where you in a whole group will participate in a full-scale avalanche scenario with designated roles, from “an avalanche has occured” until “the victim” has been found!

The sauna is hot, and you have earned another proper relaxation in the heat. Tonight’s dinner consists of a stew on Suovas and root vegetables, Yum!

Day 4

Our last day together, we start with a great breakfast on hot blueberry porridge, shredded reindeer meat and accessories! When we’ve packed, and made the beds, we take a moment for reflection and summation of what we have learned, share thoughts and questions and tie the days together into something that will stay with us forever! The last thing we do before departure is a final cleaning with wood cutting to replace the wood we used.

We thank the cottage host for our time here and then head home! We are still up on the mountain, which means that the home road will be much easier than the first time when it is almost only flat, and downhill! Once back in Vålådalen we have some final hugs before our goodbye!

The easiest option is train or bus to Undersåker, then bus to Vålådalen.

• You can handle blue & red slopes, and have tried off-piste.
  
• You should have an okay basic level of fitness, you need to be able to hike on skis, with a pack a number of kilometers and a number of altitude meters over 4 days.
