Jag är allergisk eller har speciella matbehov, kan jag vara med?
– Absolut, skriv i bokningen eller i separat mail så tar vi hänsyn till dina förutsättningar och gör en pangtur!

Jag saknar utrustning, vad ska jag göra?
– Jag rekommenderar alltid outdoorbuddies för att hyra utrustning, där finns det mesta. Jag bor dessutom granne med dem och kan därför hjälpa till med logistik och annan förmedling ifall det behövs. Vill du köpa utrustning finns jag tillgänglig för konsultation och råd!

Jag är osäker på om jag är rätt förberedd – hur vet jag?
– Boka en tid för konsultation så pratar vi om dina förutsättningar och målbilder, ibland är turen inte rätt, men oftast så övertänker man och det visar sig att det mest är nervositet inför något nytt.

Vad händer om vädret är dåligt på tur eller inför en tur?
– Är vädret så illa att det riskerar våran säkerhet så lägger vi i första hand om rutten till bättre alternativ eller justerar tidsramar etc. Dock är väder en del av att vistas i fjällen så en del får man vara förberedd på. Sista utvägen är inställning av resan men det ska mycket till. Då bokas det i så fall om till ett annat datum efter dialog med bokade gäster.

Kan jag boka en privat tur? (1-2 gäster)

Vad händer om jag missar turens starttid?
– Detta beror helt på vilken aktivitet det är men det är gästens ansvar att komma i tid och kan vi inte vänta så kan ingen återbetalning ske. Men meddela i god tid så försöker vi lösa det så gott det går.

Day 1

We meet outside the main building at Saltoluokta mountain station for introductions, and sit in the lounge to go through our tour, share thoughts and expectations. MS Langas then takes us to the starting point of the tour, the bridge below Alep Kierkau. There begins our hike through sparse old growth forest and we do a number of kilometers to STF’s oldest and first cottage, “Sjöfallsstugan”. We take in this special place where you will learn the basics of Landscape photography and also the history of this world heritage site.

Here we also have lunch we brought with us from the mountain station. We then continue north through the forest and will soon arrive at the west side of the Sea Fall. The roar of the rushing stream owns the moment and with a little luck we walk away here with amazing pictures of the place in the sunset. We walk back to Sjöfallsstugan to have dinner, and here we also spend the night.

Day 2

The sun flows through the curtains and we eat a proper breakfast, because today we will go up over the mountain. The journey begins through the birch forest but soon we get to climb upwards and after not such a long time we come up above the tree line. We walk at a leisurely pace and plenty of time will be available for photography. On the bare mountain we are met by terrain and flora consisting of heather, blueberries, dwarf birch and large boulders, between the peaks of Alep Kierkau and Lulepe Kierkau.

Up here we can look back over Lake Langas, see peaks towards the Kebnekaise mountains, and in front of us we can now see all the way into Sarek, and with the sacred mountain Slugga towering not far away. The place we are on our way to takes us just below the tree line, through beautiful golden, sparse birch forest with blankets of moss along the rarely wandered path. We will camp next to a small mountain lake in this forest, with fantastic views in all directions.

Day 3

Today we do not the take down the tents, here we spend a quiet day of photography, pure life enjoyment, course in photography and in mountain skills, and maybe even a bath!

From the campsite we have several options to choose from, lake, stream, mountains, forest, marshes guarantee that we will find something really productive.

The opportunity is also available for a summit attempt today, we can create a flexible plan from what the group feels like, and for what the weather looks like. But the focus is on development and relaxation.

Day 4

A proper breakfast and morning of reflections around the days, and then we head back. We navigate roadless land over the mountain and take height towards Kierkau. During the day you will continue to learn about navigation, photography, mountain safety and methods to manage the mountains on your own, the goal is greater independence, security as a mountain explorer. If we reach the top of Kierkaru, we have fantastic views of Lake Langas, Stora sjöfallet and towards Sarek. From here it goes downhill towards Saltoluokta, a distinctive rocky trail, views and beautiful birch forest. Once at the station, dinner is waiting in the dining room, and good night’s sleep in bed. Here’s our turn over, but the morning after we have some final evaluation, and we take the boat over the lake together for one last hug and goodbye in Kebnats.

This tour suits you who are beginner as well as more experienced, who long for adventure and who want to learn more about the mountains and grow as a person and as an independent adventurer. You need to be able to walk in varied terrain and be able to handle some height meters over a few days with pack. No other special skills are needed. Getting to the start: (STF Saltoluokta)
The easiest option is train or bus to Gällivare, then Bus towards Ritsem, get off at Kebnats and take the boat over Lake Langas.
