Är toppen av Kebnekaise garanterad?
– Nej, som alltid är det fjället och vädret som har sista ordet, och det är fullt möjligt att vi behöver vända pga rådande förhållanden. Det i sig skulle bli en värdefull utbildning, och fjället står alltid kvar.

Jag är allergisk eller har speciella matbehov, kan jag vara med?
– Absolut, skriv i bokningen eller i separat mail så tar vi hänsyn till dina förutsättningar och gör en pangtur!

Jag saknar utrustning, vad ska jag göra?
– Jag rekommenderar alltid outdoorbuddies för att hyra utrustning, där finns det mesta. Jag bor dessutom granne med dem och kan därför hjälpa till med logistik och annan förmedling ifall det behövs. Vill du köpa utrustning finns jag tillgänglig för konsultation och råd!

Jag är osäker på om jag är rätt förberedd – hur vet jag?
– Boka en tid för konsultation så pratar vi om dina förutsättningar och målbilder, ibland är turen inte rätt, men oftast så övertänker man och det visar sig att det mest är nervositet inför något nytt.

Vad händer om vädret är dåligt på tur eller inför en tur?
– Är vädret så illa att det riskerar våran säkerhet så lägger vi i första hand om rutten till bättre alternativ eller justerar tidsramar etc. Dock är väder en del av att vistas i fjällen så en del får man vara förberedd på. Sista utvägen är inställning av resan men det ska mycket till. Då bokas det i så fall om till ett annat datum efter dialog med bokade gäster.

Kan jag boka en privat tur? (1-2 gäster)
– Absolut! Skriv till info@fjallkloka.se för ett prisförslag.

Vad händer om jag missar turens starttid?
– Detta beror helt på vilken aktivitet det är men det är gästens ansvar att komma i tid och kan vi inte vänta så kan ingen återbetalning ske. Men meddela i god tid så försöker vi lösa det så gott det går.

Before trip

Online meeting before trip in the end of July.

Day 1 (arrival)

We meet at 19.00 in Kittelfjäll after arriving by bus. Here we only have a little shorter presentations as we almost directly get in the minibus that takes us to the starting point at Skalmodal, 1 hour away. Once there, we prep a fire so we can enjoy a late dinner grill and load up. Now we also have time to get to know each other a little closer and share expectations for the upcoming hike!

Day 2

We get up early and after a little morning meeting and breakfast we finally head off, upwards! The first day is also the toughest, as we immediately start with a steep climb and the day itself means many altitude meters. Of course we take it easy and keep the pulse on a conversational level! The terrain will immediately be exciting as we follow Lapplandsleden up on Skaalmavaartoe. The mountain as quite unique in Sweden is shaped like a long river, where we get views both south and north. All the way west we actually make our way to the national border where we can enjoy some coffee and talk about how the unique landscape we just passed has been shaped. Then we continue with the next challenge, to get up and over Stoere Tjåhke, a mountain where we will hike1100 meters above sea level, and then almost immediately go down again on the other side and further around the lake Arevattnet where our planned campsite is.

Day 3

At breakfast we take the opportunity to talk a little about the plants and possibly wildlife we have seen so far during the tour, and what is just unique for the mountains around here. We pack up and continue north along Lapplandsleden, now exclusively in the open mountain landscape. During the day we get a first glance at the mountain Atoklimpen, one of the holiest in Sami culture. The area is also the only Sami cultural reserve in Sweden with its very rich history that we will talk about. The landscape we hike today is rarely visited and it really feels like a true wilderness. A few kilometers south of the Atoklimpen we camp to enjoy dinner and late night talks.

Day 4

We get up and see Atoklimpen in the new light, continues north where we soon meet the tree line when we walk into a hugely beautiful birch forest. If we are lucky, the leaves have already turned golden. Old huts and trapping systems line the path and it really shows how much life it has been here before. But even today we have a great chance to see reindeer in the area. Around lunchtime we arrive at Atostugan, another special place where we stop and talk about the history and the personalities that have stayed here. After lunch we continue on the gravel road, up to the parking lot where a minibus is waiting, which we use to get to Hemavan. Here we look back on a mountain that we now know a little more about and hopefully we have had some really beautiful days. We evaluate, hug and say our farewells!

On this tour we hike over 3 days, and at the longest 18 km in a day, but in very hilly terrain. This means that you need to be in shape and be able to handle that distance with a pack. We recommend that you pack as easily as possible.

Train / Bus to Östersund or Vilhelmina. From there bus to Kittelfjäll.
