What happens if I have to cancel?
– If it is more than 60 days before activity, you only pay the deposit of 1500 SEK. Read the booking conditions here

Is the summit garuanteed?
No, as always, it is the mountain and the weather that has the last word, and it is quite possible that we need to turn around because of the prevailing conditions. That in itself would be a valuable education, and the mountain always remains.

I am allergic or have special food needs, can I join?
– Absolutely, write in the booking or in separate mail so we take your conditions into account.

I don’t have equipment, what should I do?
– I always recommend Outdoorbuddies to rent equipment, they have a good selection. I also live next door to them and can therefore help with logistics and other mediation if needed. If you want to buy equipment, I am available for consultation and advice!

I’m not sure if I’m properly prepared, how can I tell?
– Book an appointment for consultation and we will look at the appropriate activity for your needs, we try to be flexible and adaptable to our common goals, everyone should feel welcome!

What happens if the weather is bad in luck or ahead of a trip?
If the weather is so bad that it risks our security, we primarily change the route to better alternatives or adjust timeframes etc. However, weather is part of staying in the mountains so this is something you need to take into account. The last resort is cancellation of the trip but it would take a lot. In that case, it will be rescheduled to another date after dialogue with you.

Can I book a private tour? (1-2 guests)

What happens if I miss the start time of the tour?
– This depends entirely on what activity it is but it is the guest’s responsibility to arrive on time and we can not wait so no refund can be made. But let us know well in advance and we will try to solve it as best we can.

Day 1

Nikkaluokta Sarri is our starting point and here we are seen for our first briefing and presentations. Already from here we see far into the valley west towards the mighty Tolpagorni.
Our first day involves a hike into STF Kebnekaise mountain station. The road is relatively flat, but rocky and is a good warm-up for the coming days. We spend time getting to know each other, our common goals and also practice some basics in hiking technique, navigation and energy management.

When we arrive at the mountain station we land, get comfortable in either tents or rooms, eat a fantastic dinner at Elsas kitchen and then we sit down and plan tomorrow. Depending on the weather, we have 2 options, either we do the top attempt during day 2, or 3.

Day 2 & 3

The summit attempt at Kebnekaise is done during either day 2 or 3. It gives us a day before, or after exploring more opportunities in the area.
The summitday, whether day 2 or 3, looks like this: We start early, a morning brief about the day’s setup where we review the group’s status, and what we have to expect during the day. We will climb the mountain via the western trail, which means a long day with many vertical meters. During the ascent, you will receive a solid course in all the many moving parts that mountaineering consists of; walking technique, navigation, breaks, timekeeping, energy management, weather, decision making in difficult terrain and much more. If we summit, we’re talking about a day of around 15 hours start to finish, and when we come back, another well-deserved dinner awaits at Elsas.

Our extra flexible day will be on the same theme, mountaineering and mountain knowledge. If we have already done the summit, the group will have a greater opportunity to decide the layout, design a smaller tour and practice their own decisions, leadership and planning. If we attempt summit on day 3, this day will mean a similar set-up but more focus on preparation for ascent.

Day 4

3 challenging days physically and mentally gives us the right to a sleep-in surely? We eat breakfast together, and then we spend time on a proper evaluation and reflection of what we just experienced, what we have done well and what we can take with us to the next time. Then it’s time to pack your bags one last time and start hiking back to Nikkaluokta. During the walk, the focus will not be more education, but space for memories, and further thoughts ahead. Once we have completed an ascent like Keb, it is not uncommon for us to almost immediately start thinking about more adventures! Arriving in Nikkaluokta we’re looking ahead to our next reunion and until next time, and we will see each other in the mountains!

This trip suits you that have hiked before and wants to take the next step, as well as someone more experienced, who longs for new heights and greater adventures. You are well able to hike many hours and many vertical meters with a pack. You are very welcome to contact me for a customized training plan!

Foodplanning:

• We will have dinner and breakfast at STF Kebnekaise mountain station, so you just need to bring lunches and lots of snacks. But there is also a small shop for this at the station.
  

If you need to rent equipment, I recommend Outdoorbuddies and this can be done in consultation with me if you wish. I live next door to them so for such equipment you do not need before the turn starts you do not have to think about shipping.

If you have boots, make sure they’re hiked in, and waxed and if you have new socks so make sure that they feel good to walk with them as well. Remember that feet swell slightly after you have walked for a while.

After booking, you will receive an invitation to a digital meeting for the tour that will be held in July.

Getting to the start: (Nikkaluokta)
The easiest option is train or bus to Kiruna, and then bus (Nikkaluokta Expressen) to Nikkaluokta, it departs directly from the train station.
